About Us
Who We Are
New Hope Community Church — also known historically as First Reformed Church of New Hyde Park— has been a part of the New Hyde Park community for approximately 130 years. We are a group of genuine, authentic people striving to know Jesus better and wrestling with the issues of life.
We are a diverse group in many ways — we come from a variety of backgrounds and ages. Some of us have had a relationship with God for many years, some of us are new to the faith, and some of us are still uncertain of what we believe.
Our Mission
“Renewing minds by the Word and Renewing Hearts by Prayer. New Hope Community Church exists to renew minds through the faithful teaching of God’s Word and renew hearts through fervent prayer. As a diverse, authentic community, we welcome people from all backgrounds, ages, and stages of faith — whether long-time believers, new followers, or those still seeking. We are committed to proclaiming the Gospel, extending Biblical hospitality, fostering genuine worship, fellowship, and discipleship, so that every person can experience the transforming love of Christ and grow in their relationship with Him. Vision: We envision New Hope Community Church as a welcoming spiritual home where tears are understood, hearts are healed, and spirits soar. A place where people encounter the living God through clear Biblical teaching, authentic relationships, and joyful worship as in Revelation 7:9. We aspire to be a unified body of believers that brings the reality of heaven to earth, radiates the love of Christ, stands firm on the Scriptures, and offering hope, transformation, and community to New Hyde Park and beyond.”
Core Value
Word-Worship-Fellowship-Discipleship
We aim for our church to be a place where all people, regardless of their issues, backgrounds, or problems, can come and experience the love of Christ, Biblical hospitality, Biblical teaching, and be transformed through the Gospel and the Scriptures.
Our Pastor
Pastor N. Das Rendla
Pastor Rendla was born into a Hindu family and accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior during his college studies through campus ministry in 1998. He worked as a Software Engineer in India for 8 years before leaving his career to enter full-time ministry to serve God and His people.
What We Believe
Our faith is grounded in these foundational beliefs organized into seven core categories:
Hope in Christ's Return
We await the Lord's second coming, viewing Christ as our only hope.
Scriptures -SNAP
The Bible is sufficient because it contains all the knowledge necessary for salvation and godly living, serving as the complete standard of faith and practice with no additional revelations required. It is necessary because, while general knowledge of God may be seen in creation, the written Word is indispensable for knowing Him personally and understanding the way of salvation. The Bible possesses supreme authority as the God-breathed text, making it the ultimate and final standard of truth, so that to disbelieve or disobey Scripture is to disbelieve or disobey God Himself. Finally, it is characterized by perspicuity (clarity), meaning its saving message is clear and understandable to anyone who reads it with a willing heart, and while some passages are complex, its central themes are accessible without requiring specialized training.
Ecclesiology
Christ builds a unified body. We celebrate baptism as a seal of God's covenant and the Lord's Table as central to worship.
Eschatology
We anticipate Christ will renew the world, removing unrighteousness and perfecting human fellowship in divine love.
Social Engagement
Believers are called to oppose discrimination, support just governance, and pursue peace among nations.
Community & Fellowship
We are called to love one another as Christ loves us, growing together in faith and in life.
Church
Church is a Community of People for One Purpose to fulfill the Purpose of God for the Community. For bringing the Heaven to Earth. (Matt 6:9) /n Church is a place where tears are understood, Where one can go to cry. Church is a place where the spirit can take wing And soar high. Church is a place for always being on top of things, As God has called it a primary thing (John 21:15-17). Church is a place for always wearing smiles, Even when that is not how one feels. Church is a place where heart cries can be heard, Where shall one go to speak. If this is not a place where tears are understood, Where shall one go to cry.
